What is a bridge crane?
A bridge crane lifts and moves loads in three axes: the bridge travels along the building on two runway rails, the trolley travels across the bridge and the hook moves up and down. The same machine is also called an overhead travelling crane or simply an overhead crane. Typical users are factories, steel service centres, foundries, warehouses and maintenance workshops.

Are a bridge crane and an overhead travelling crane the same?
Yes. Both describe a crane with a bridge travelling on runway rails and a trolley moving along the bridge; “overhead crane” is also used.
What is the difference between single and double girder bridge cranes?
Single girder cranes are economical for light to medium loads and medium spans (typically up to 16 t); double girder cranes suit high capacities, large spans, higher hook positions and intensive use.
