Many of the faults we see in the field are caused not by mechanical failure but by operator error. Here is how to reduce them.
1. Exceeding the rated load
Mark the maximum load clearly, use a load cell or digital weighing and add audible/visual warnings near the limit.
2. Abrupt starts and stops
Use soft start/stop, prefer inverter-controlled cranes and train operators to press buttons gently.
3. Working without a clear view
Operators must see the whole load; use banksmen or cameras for blind spots.
4. Leaving loads suspended
Lower the load as soon as it reaches its destination and test brakes regularly.
5. Skipping daily checks
Check controls, rope, emergency stop and limit switches before every shift, ideally with a signed or digital checklist.
6. Lack of training
Give an orientation session for every new crane and refresher training every six months.
7. Distraction and fatigue
Ban phone use during operation and reinforce a safety-first culture with clear signage.
Aylen offers on-site operator training, digital daily check systems and certification support.
